Hey, I’m Mohan Durai — someone who loves learning, creating, and sharing knowledge. I completed my Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, and I’m now pursuing my MBA to expand my skills in business, strategy, and leadership.
My journey has always been a mix of hands-on experience and curiosity. I grew up learning in my father’s electrical rewinding shop, which gave me a strong foundation in motors, troubleshooting, and practical engineering. Later, I worked as a Project Engineer at Cloud Tech Automation, where I gained real-time experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, control panels, and industrial automation.
I enjoy solving problems, improving systems, and exploring how technology — especially automation, AI, and sustainable energy — can make life and industries smarter. Learning is something I truly enjoy, and I believe knowledge becomes more meaningful when it is shared.
With my MBA underway, I’m working toward combining technical understanding with strategic thinking, aiming to build impactful solutions in the future.
This website is my space to share my work, ideas, learning journey, and the things I create along the way.
What achievements are you proud of?
I’m proud of several achievements that have shaped my journey. Completing my engineering degree is one of them — it taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of curiosity. Winning first place in a short-film competition is another achievement that stands out, as it pushed me creatively and showed me the importance of storytelling and teamwork.
On the professional side, I am proud of the hands-on experience I gained from working in my father’s electrical rewinding shop. It gave me a solid foundation in motors, troubleshooting, and understanding machines from the inside out. My internship as a Project Engineer at Cloud Tech Automation is another milestone I value, as it helped me gain practical expertise in PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation.
I'm proud of several achievements throughout my career. One accomplishment I'm particularly proud of is my ability to leverage technology to streamline processes and improve communication in the workplace.
For instance, I implemented Google Workspace tools like Sheets and Docs to manage our store efficiently. By utilizing Sheets for inventory management and sales tracking, we were able to maintain optimal stock levels and make data-driven decisions to boost sales. Additionally, using Docs for collaborative document creation enhanced communication among team members, leading to better coordination and faster decision-making.
Another achievement I'm proud of is simplifying client communication during projects. I noticed that explaining intricate timing-based logic to clients was time-consuming and occasionally led to misunderstandings. To address this challenge, I created a logic sheet that outlined the timing sequences and logic in a clear and straightforward manner. This not only saved time but also improved client understanding and satisfaction, resulting in smoother project execution and fewer delays.
Earning the NPTEL certification from IIT Bombay with an Elite Top 5% ranking is also something I’m proud of, as it reflects my commitment to consistent learning and growth.
All these experiences together have shaped my technical abilities, my mindset, and my approach to challenges — and they continue to guide me as I build my career.
Overall, these achievements highlight my ability to identify inefficiencies, implement effective solutions, and enhance collaboration in the workplace. It's gratifying to see how leveraging technology and creative problem-solving can make a tangible difference in the success of projects and the satisfaction of clients and colleagues.
What are some of your strengths?
One of my core strengths is my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges. Whether it’s technical concepts in engineering or strategic ideas in management, I enjoy understanding how things work and applying that knowledge in practical ways. Problem-solving comes naturally to me — I’m comfortable identifying root causes, staying calm under pressure, and finding efficient, logical solutions.
I’m also highly detail-oriented, especially when working with electrical systems, automation components, or troubleshooting equipment. This precision has helped me handle complex tasks like motor diagnostics, control panel work, and PLC/SCADA setups with confidence. Another strength I value is my ability to simplify complicated topics. I like making things clear and easy to understand for others, and I genuinely enjoy helping people learn.
Along with this, I consider consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to take initiative as key strengths that guide me in both personal growth and professional development.
What skills are you working on?
Right now, I’m sharpening my management, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills as I pursue my MBA. I want to develop a strong balance between technical knowledge and business understanding so I can approach problems from multiple angles.
I’m also improving my communication, leadership, and presentation abilities — skills that are essential for working with teams, guiding projects, and handling responsibilities at a higher level. At the same time, I’m exploring how emerging technologies like automation, AI, and sustainable energy can integrate with traditional engineering systems to create smarter, more efficient solutions.
Additionally, I’m working on enhancing my planning, organization, and project-execution skills so I can deliver better results in both academic and professional settings.
